H-1B Lottery Registration Now Underway

There are a number of changes to the H-1B process this year, and we want to make employers, recruiters and potential beneficiaries aware of these upcoming deadlines and changes.

Important Dates for H1B Registration Process

• March 1^st, Noon EST, 2020  : Employer can start to submit H1B Registrations after creating an account with USCIS
• March 20^th, Noon EST, 2020 : H1B Registration period ends.
• March 31^st, 2020 : H1B Lottery/ Selection Results Deadline (can come before)
• April 1^st, 2020 : USCIS accepts H1B petition with LCA, full info for FY 2021
• June 30^th, 2020 : 90 Days deadline ends for filing of H1B petitions for FY 2021

This year, for the first time, employers or their lawyers must register with USCIS starting March 1, 2020, if they want to sponsor an employee for a H-1B and pay the $10 registration fee per employee.

This is the information that will be required of the beneficiary or applicant during the initial registration process:

• Legal Name (First, Middle and Last name)
• Gender
• Option related to US Master’s Quota Eligibility
• Date of Birth
• Country of Birth
• Country of Citizenship
• Passport Number ( If no passport, there is an option to check a box)

Note that only the employer or an attorney for the employer can submit the lottery registration, and not the beneficiary.

USCIS will announce the winners of this lottery process no later than March 31, 2020. If selected for the lottery, it is mandatory for the employers to file the H-1B petition no later than June 30, 2020.

Interested employers and companies should contact us with potential employees they want to sponsor no later than March 13, 2020 to start the process so we have enough time to submit the required information in the system.

After winners are announced, we will work with employers and beneficiaries to file the H-1B petition.
